How was the performance of top stocks in the last ~11 months?

Return of 45%!

It's not advisable to evaluate the performance of the leading stock within a span of approximately 11 months, as short-term stock prices are predominantly influenced by liquidity and market sentiment, rather than fundamental factors. Our stock article is only a preliminary analysis, and we recommend that investors, including ourselves, conduct a more comprehensive examination before investing in the top stocks.

However, we understand the desire for quantifiable analysis and figures. Therefore, we attempted to create an equal-weight portfolio of the top 20 stocks, assuming we could invest INR 1 lakh in each stock, with some rounding off, at the closing price of July 20, 2022. Result:

Comparable returns for the key indices over this period were:

  • Nifty 50 – 14%

  • Nifty 500 – 14%

  • Nifty Smallcap 100 – 19%

  • Nifty Midcap 100 – 23%
